For everything there is a season and for Passover gifts too

Passover is just around the corner and I decided that I need to make some small handmade presents. This altered clear box is a pure recycling (thanks Tim Holtz embossers for such a lovely big pillow boxes to reuse).
I already made some for Halloween, but this one is a very first made for Passover tags (thanks, dear The Rubber Cafe for those fantastic Jewish stamps!)
So  the box was altered and then filled (not to the edge) with 2 more gift tags for the future use.

This is the full box view, with both tags inside. Here is an empty altered box.

For the box I made 2  tags, using the  best ever paper I found - The Rubber Cafe Pugnacious White Signuture paper. Just perfect for stamping, heat embossing, inking with water, distressing- still looks like new!

For the bigger tag I stamped this Ecclesiastes  stamp with Truffle ink, heat embossed with Clear embossing powder . The Clock stamp is from Vintage Treasures set- stamped with blue  ink several times and heat embossed again. Then all tag was inked with distressed inks, watered and I added some " blood" drops with red paint.

The smaller tag was stamped with the Script stamp from the Steampunk  Charity Wings set  and heat embossed too, The 2 other stamps from this set were added and I made the brownish distressed color again.
Both tags  were  adhered with One and Only glue tape, the same tape was used to glue the ribbons from RRR shop.

Both tags were embellished with more ribbons and i added a couple of Prima flowers. The box was done and now for  more tags in the box.
I made 2 completely different tags here: one is pastel and cute and the second is shabby and dark, but I actually used the same Tree of Life set.

For the pastel tag I made Shalom word stamping- all 3 different stamps with Jasmine  ink and clear heat embossing and then added 3 colors of Distress Stains (Broken China, Pine Needles ,Tattered Rose). I teared the piece, glued it with Scrap Happy glue and stamped the Dove over it with Green ink.

One of 3 tree stamps was  stamped, heat embossed and glued on the corner. 2 buttons and a ribbon (RRR again) were added to finish this tag.

The second tag was made with Basic Backgrounds 2  Dots stamp- white ink, clear embossing, stamping all 3 Shalom word stamps over it and inked with some distress inks
I added a ribbon strip to cover some stamping mistakes (it works, believe me), again with One and Only tape.

Another tree stamps from Tree of Life was stamped, heat embossed and inked.
And now the box and both tags again- hope you like them.

And to the punch line: Shalom (means PEACE AND HELLO in Hebrew), is our family name. So I just signed the tags without signing them.
See your with my next project and wish your all a very Happy Easter and Passover!

Royal vacation with Robin's Nest royal products

This page will be published in June 2012 Scrapbooking.com issue
Hello, My dear blogging friends! My new Royal page made with a mix of royal Robin's Nest glittery products.
I used Girls Glittery Crowns as a basic cardstock, added the Old Map over ( kind of a strange geography there, for sure). Then I hand cut a lot of pieces from Glittery Palms cardstock and added some matting from Tropical Voyage paper. The rub- ons from Palm tree gave me this " add red" color. I also used some clippies from 2 sets and the sea  stars as my major embellishment.

The glitter red  metal ribbon was just perfect around this Tando Creative compass painted with Ranger distress paint. Glitter royal strip was added under the photo and I used AC letters for my title.

A long life is in store for you

This card was published in SNR April/May 2012 issue
This is my very first The Rubber Cafe DT post. I made a full tutorial for this post  for TRC blog, but I repost it here too for all my own blog followers.
So here is my finished card- Oriental style for any occasion.

As some of your may know (my FB friends mostly), my new TRC stamps made a long travel from our Israeli customs to my home (2 weeks and mostly 13 miles away), but they are finally with me and I had a hard time to decide what I am going to use for my very first blog post. Actually, I wanted to use them all as all stamps are so gorgeous, but finally I stopped on those Oriental stamps as I was in this Chinese mood.
Then I decided to make a quick tutorial with some stamping basics, as some of us are not the long time experienced stampers and sometime we need to go back to basics.
So this post is about Resist stamping technique and Stamped paper piecing, but with my own twists.
Resist stamping technique:
This technique is based on resist to paint action of stamped and heat embossed images. So when you stamp any image on your cardstock, use embossing powder and heat it, you can paint over it with inks, watercolors, stains, acrylic and then to wipe the paint over your images and to see them clear and in the color they were embossed.
My twist here was to use some light color patterned paper and to produce this technique on it and not on some solid cardstock.

I used this Basic Grey cardstock (back side of it), with White ink (OK, I am a messy crafter, my inks and stamps are not so clean, but believe me, it is white inside).
I used Donna Salazar Mixed Media Jasmine ink and White embossing powder.
I also  used Blossom Branch TRC  stamp for this step.
Here you can see the stamped and embossed image and we are ready for the next step.

You can use any kind of paint over your stamped images as long as it's not totally permanent one, I decided to stick with Donna Salazar Mixed Media inks and to paint my embossed blooms into some pink color that mixes great with this original greens of the paper. So I used this Chiffon ink here.
The piece of Ranger's Cut -n-dry foam used for my inking and then I added some pink highlights with reddish watercolor over the flowers and wiped all extra paints and inks with a baby wipe.
Now my resist piece is done and I cut out to the card panel size and inked around with Donna Salazar Truffle ink and made pearl flower centers were made with Cream Pearl Pen and this piece was done.

The second basic technique I will show you today is this Stamping and Paper piecing one. Very simple and well known and still I decided to make a twist and to use a piece of patterned paper again and to make it 3 layers 3d image.

I used this TRC Large Lace Fan , Versamark embossing ink and some gold embossing powder.

You can see the fan after I made the embossing and I actually made it 3 times. Then I hand cut it: one full fan , the second- the upper half and the third- just the lace part. I adhered them one over another using 3d foam glue and my focal point image was done
And here are both stamped pieces before the final card was made.

And now for the final project:

Kraft cardstock base , heat embossed with the same gold powder around for this distressed look.
3 layers of Basic Grey papers, but not too obvious, as we want to concentrate in our front panel.
Both blooms and fan added and then I made this embellishments cluster with recycled ribbon bow, old Chinese coin (recycled from an old candle), some black old twine , some not so old Prima flowers and the sentiment from some Chinese fortune cookies page. And this sentiment just says it all: long life is in store for all of us.
All layers were adhered with The Rybber Cafe  best ever GLUE.
The Rubber Cafe stamps are in our store for you to use for this long crafting life!

Sunshine sun flowers

This page was published in April issue of Scrapbooking. com magazine
New page made with A2Z Scraplets new February release and WOW Embossing powders .
I also used some Tando stencils for the background misting and made those dots with  their stencil, clear embossing ink and Wow Embossing green powder. This is a very simple page, but with lots of techniques: misting, painting, heat embossing, die cutting (fence from CLD), hand writing, inking, misted white flower and I even altered this chipboard K&Co title with gold embossing powder to fit the page.

Our Adventure

This page will be published in Scrapbooking.com June 2012 issue
Last October we had this terrific Greece cruise and I never scrapped a single photo of this trip. So it's time now for the first one.

I used Lily Bee products and March sketch, A2Z part of the chipboard title, The Rubber Cafe stamps (Vintage Treasures clock, camera  and script, Column stamps), a lot of Elle's Studio tags- with added stamping, EC epoxies and stamped and cut images and one single EK border punch.

This is as close to clean and simple as I can scrap.
And this was made for some web challenges:

My vintage treasure bag

Hello, my dear  stamping friends! Irit is here again and this time with my vintage altered Kraft bag.
Those Tim Holtz  brown bags are so inviting to alter them in this perfect vintage style and TRC Vintage treasures  stamps set was just so perfect  for this bag.
First I stamped the bag with 2 big background  print stamps from the set, using Brown Mixed Media  Truffle ink and then I inked it around with  Tim Holtz distress green ink.
The tags are  from Basic Grey and they  were bright and shiny and had nothing to do with  mute vintage style. But wait! After I stamped those other vintage stamps from the same set with the same brown and green inks and heat embossed them with Clear embossing powder, it just changed the whole picture. Now those tags are vintage and fit this project just perfect.
I made a cluster of all 3 stamped tags, added some vintage seam binding ribbons from Really Reasonable Ribbons shop (we have a blog hop with them next month, but I ordered much more ribbons to use before and after). A bit of RRR lace was pleated under the biggest stamped tag.
I made a stamped title with the last stamp from this set over another tag and then some more shabby embellishments were added all around (the gold buttons is a real vintage, all other items are from scrap supplies. The last one was this bottle cap with epoxy cover (Bottle Caps Co.)

Then I decided to stop... Even if less is not more with me, this was too much already .
And them I added some Cream  Pearl Pen touches  over the stamped butterfly. I can't stop, sorry.
One last word: I used TRC most perfect Scrap Happy Glue  for this project and the One-&- only tape  to pleat my piece of lace and it glues metal and button and just close to everything.
And the bag is totally  made for use: great for some small jewelry piece present inside.

Hope I inspired you a bit this time .
See you next week with my new project. I think I am going to scrap nest  time, but not sure yet. Too many  fabulous stamps to pick from and very hard to decide.
Have a great day!
I enter this project
